Lots of people ask us about the sizes of swim spas. Will they fit in a space that is X wide and X deep? Here is a quick guide to give you some food for thought.
The smallest swim spa we know of is the aqua fit sport measuring 156 inches long by 91 inches wide, and 52 inches deep. This is quite a compact model. We have personally used one and while it is just about usable, anyone over 6ft may start touching the edges when in use.
On average swim spas are around 180 inches long and 90 inches wide and 55 inches deep. These are ball park figures but they are not totally made up either. We find that anything smaller than this can be a bit of hassle for larger people and always recommend getting something at least equal to the measurements above to ensure you are not restricted when exercising by the size of your unit. We have used smaller models before, and at a height of 6 feet 2 inches they were very hard for me to try and work out in. If space is an issue and you can only get a small one in, then a smaller one will have to do. But if the only issue the cost of your swim spa, it is certainly worth saving up a little bit more to purchase a larger model, it really does make all the difference.

The largest and big daddy of the swim spa world is the Aqua pro 19. A massive 228 inches long and 90 inches wide and 62 inches deep this is a spa that will suit people small or large. The three seats in the seating area of the swim spa take up some of this space. But with its clever design they will offer minimal restriction when swimming solo (you probably wont need the space taken up by the seating area when swimming in something as large as the Aqua Pro 19 – but its nice to know it is there if you need it!).
So there you have it – a quick and dirty guide to the smallest, largest, and average sizes. How big is yours? Is it large enough – perhaps too large? Let us know in the comments.
